Spider Patience is three solitaire card games in one: Spider, Klondike and FreeCell. Spider solitaire is the star. Two decks are dealt into ten piles, and your job is to build complete runs from King down to Ace in a single suit; every finished run leaves the table, and when all eight are gone you win. Play it with one suit to relax, two suits for a real challenge, or four suits if you like your patience hard. When you run out of moves, tap the stock to deal a new row of ten cards.

Klondike is the solitaire most people learned first: seven piles, a stock to draw from (one card or three at a time) and four foundations to fill from Ace to King, with standard or Vegas scoring. FreeCell shows every card from the start and gives you four free cells to work with, and its deals are numbered from 1 to 32000 in the classic way, so you can replay a famous deal or share a number with a friend. Every game has unlimited undo, a hint button that finds a useful move, a tap-to-move shortcut and an automatic finish once the cards are all in order.

Turn on winnable deals only and every Spider or Klondike deal you get comes from a list that our solver has already won, so a loss is never the shuffle's fault. A new daily deal appears for each game every day (UTC), and the Spider one-suit daily has its own leaderboard for the fastest time. Choose a green felt, blue or dark table and classic or four-colour suits that are easy to tell apart for colour-blind players. Your statistics, streaks and an unfinished game are saved automatically, and with a free TapNPlay account they follow you to any device.

How to play

  1. Pick Spider, Klondike or FreeCell on the home screen and choose the variant: 1, 2 or 4 suits, draw 1 or draw 3, or a FreeCell deal number.
  2. Drag a card, or a run of cards, onto a pile where it fits. Tap a card to send it to the best place automatically.
  3. Spider: build down in any suit, but only runs of one suit move together. A full King-to-Ace run of one suit is removed. Tap the stock to deal a row when no pile is empty.
  4. Klondike and FreeCell: build down in alternating colours and move every card to the four foundations, Ace to King, by suit. In FreeCell, use the four free cells to park single cards.
  5. Stuck? Use Undo as often as you like or press Hint to see a useful move.

FAQ

What is the difference between 1, 2 and 4 suit Spider?

The rules are the same, but with more suits only cards of the same suit can be moved together and only same-suit runs are removed, so you need many more moves to sort them out. One suit is relaxed, two suits is a good challenge and four suits is for experts.

Is every deal winnable?

Turn on winnable deals only in the Spider or Klondike menu and you only get deals that our solver has won. All but one of the 32000 numbered FreeCell deals can be won (deal 11982 is the famous exception).

How does the daily deal work?

Every day at midnight UTC each game gets a new deal that is the same for everyone. Win the Spider one-suit daily to put your time on the daily leaderboard.
