Bolt Out

Bolt Out is a bolt and screw puzzle set on a cozy workshop bench. Painted metal plates are stacked on a steel pegboard, pinned in place by colorful bolts. Tap a bolt to unscrew it and it spins out and flies into the toolbox of its color. Every toolbox holds three bolts; when it is full it closes and a new color slides in. Take every bolt out and the last plate clatters to the floor.

The catch is the stacking. A bolt that sits under another plate is stuck until that plate is gone, and a bolt with no matching toolbox has to wait in one of the few spare holes. Fill every spare hole and you are out of moves. When a plate is down to its last bolt it swings around it, and a hanging plate can block bolts it never touched before, so think a few moves ahead.

Every one of the 200 levels was checked by a solver, so each one can be cleared with the holes you are given, and the difficulty climbs gently from a two-plate warm-up to crowded, layered boards. After level 200 new levels are generated forever, and a fresh daily puzzle with its own time leaderboard waits every day. Extra holes, pull-outs, magnets and undos help when you are stuck, and you earn more by playing. Progress is saved automatically and follows your free TapNPlay account.

How to play

1. Tap a bolt whose head is not covered by another plate to unscrew it.
2. It flies into the open toolbox of the same color, or waits in a spare hole when there is none.
3. A full toolbox of three leaves and the next color arrives, taking matching bolts from the spare holes.
4. Clear every plate to win. If all spare holes are full and no free bolt fits a toolbox, the level is lost: use a booster or try again.
