Flag Quest

Flag Quest is a friendly flag quiz for everyone who loves maps, travel and trivia. All 195 countries are in the game, plus a few well-known territories such as Greenland, Hong Kong and Puerto Rico. Pick a region pack (Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas, Oceania or the whole world) and start with the famous flags before moving on to the well-known ones and finally every country. Each round has ten questions and up to three stars, and a star on one level opens the next, so you learn step by step instead of guessing at random.

There are many ways to play. Guess the country from its flag, find the right flag for a country name, or type the name yourself for a real challenge: typed answers ignore capital letters and accents, accept common short names like USA, UK or Holland, and forgive one small typo in long names. In the capitals quiz you name the capital city of each country, from Paris and Tokyo to Ouagadougou and Ngerulmud, either from four choices or by typing it. The continents game asks you to sort flags onto the right continent, and similar-looking flags such as Chad and Romania or Indonesia and Monaco show up on the harder levels to keep you sharp.

When you want a quick thrill, try time attack: sixty seconds to name as many flags as you can, with three seconds lost for every mistake. The daily quiz brings ten new questions every day, the same for every player, with its own leaderboard. Online race mode matches you with another player who speaks your language, or with a friend through a private four-letter room code, for a ten-question race where speed and streaks count. In learn mode you can browse every flag with its capital, continent, population, area and a few fun facts. Streaks, combos, stars and best scores are saved automatically, and the game is fully translated into twelve languages.

How to play

1. Choose a mode from the menu: Flags, Capitals, Continents, Time attack, Daily quiz, Online race or Learn.
2. For Flags and Capitals, pick how you want to answer (choose or type), then a region pack and a level. Famous flags come first.
3. Tap the right answer, or type it and press Check. Right answers in a row build a combo for extra points.
4. Get at least six of ten right for one star, eight for two and all ten for three. A star opens the next level.
5. In time attack you have 60 seconds; every wrong answer costs three seconds. In online races both players get the same ten questions.
